Abstract-- Technological developments in this era of
globalization take place very quickly that require humans to live
their life side by side with information and technology. With the
existence of information and technology, problems that arise
around us can be facilitated and overcome. Moreover, it must be
easily accessible by various stakeholders, for example Tourism in
order to obtain quality, precise, fast, and accurate general
information. Currently, most local governments do not have an
information system to make it easier for tourists to have vacation.
The existing information system is only through the internet in the
form of image display, there is also a map but the accuracy of the
place is not appropriate causing tourists to get confused and just
spend time on the road looking for places. Therefore, there is an
urge for a complete information system to identify tourist sites. Not
only that but also extras such as restaurants and lodging. With this,
there is additional value for the government to develop the region.
That is why a Geographic Information System was made to make
tourists feel easier to have a website-based vacation using the
Google Maps API for making Geographic Information Systems.
Geographic Information System of West Bangka Regency Tourism
can be used to identify and obtain information about the location by
displaying the coordinates of tourist locations, lodging, restaurants
on a map, and route information for the intended tourist location.
